On October 27, 2020, the first batch of assorted PV modules of 1MW PV + 2MWh ESSproject in Jumla regionof Nepal was officially dispatched from Shanghai, remarking the significant progress of the “Ecology+ Energy” business innovation mode with the Jumla project as the solar pilot.
The Jumla region is located in a remote highland area inwestern Nepal, with a population of about 20,000 households, while only 3,000households were equipped with normal use of electricity. In January 2020, CHINTand local agent visited Jumla, and then successfully signed the MOU for the Jumla project, which makes CHINT became the only supplier of PV modules, mounting structure, cables, combiner boxes, inverters, EMS, battery packs etc..
As a leading smart energy solutions provider and a new energy leader, CHINT possesses core technologies in electrical and clean energy system solutions, which can meet the high-efficiency power generation needs of the Jumla project, which integrates hydropower, photovoltaics and diesel power.
The photovoltaic energy storage and power distribution can not only realize the self-sufficiency of the power supply of its own equipment, but also generate electricity stably under dim conditions such as rainy days, and the surplus electricity can also be connected to the grid. When an emergency situation causes a power outage, the photovoltaic energy storage system can continue to provide the stable and reliable load power supply for the electrical room, which will greatly improve the efficiency of fault diagnosis and repair power and greatly improved the reliability of power supply in the Jumla area.
Photovoltaic, as a green and pollution-free energy source, meets the needs of the Nepalese government for natural environmental protection. The energy storage not only solves the lack of electricity, but also ensures the stable power supply in the area and improves the quality of life of local residents.
